Join members of MKE Ayurveda Collective and friends to usher in 2019 with intention and affirmations using a "boost" from January's full moon, which is also known as the Wolf Moon. It is also a Supermoon. We'll begin with a group metta (loving-kindness) meditation, write personal intentions, and burn them in a fire ceremony releasing our wishes to the Universe. The fire ceremony will be outdoors so please dress for the weather if you wish to participate. We will line up and get to be with the fire one at a time. Jerry is the fire-tender and will guide you about what to do. Light refreshments will be available afterward.
January 20th is also a lunar eclipse of 2019 (the first was on 1/7). Ayurvedic wisdom teaches us to take special precautions during this celestial event. It's not recommended to be outdoors or deliberately view the eclipse. Meditation and spiritual practices are encouraged instead. The eclipse won't be visible in Milwaukee until 8:30 p.m. which will give everyone enough time to get home before it begins. Read more about the Ayurvedic perspective of eclipses and learn specific do's and don'ts here.
